My name is Russ, and I started Cosmic Quest Hobbies because I love building things — especially scratch built spaceships and sci-fi dioramas. Like a lot of people, I’ve spent plenty of nights looking up at the stars and wondering what it might be like to explore what’s out there. At some point, that curiosity turned into a simple idea: why not build the ships myself and tell the story along the way? That idea grew into an original storyline centered around a high-tech space exploration company based on Earth. Through a series of breakthroughs, the company develops a practical warp drive capable of propelling ships across vast distances in realistic timeframes. Around the same period, advances in gravity-manipulation technology make long-duration deep-space missions possible. Not long after, spectroscopic readings from planets in the Proxima Centauri system reveal signatures strongly suggestive of life. With the technology finally in place — and a compelling reason to use it — CQH Aerospace constructed its first interstellar, warp-capable research vessel – The USS Pathfinder. The Pathfinder, along with the ships that follow, marks the beginning of a new era of interstellar exploration and discovery. Each build represents a piece of that expanding universe. Through my YouTube channel and this website, I share the design process, hands-on construction, and evolving story behind each project — inviting you along for the journey as this universe continues to grow.
